After trailing for most of the game the Georgia Southern University (9-17, SoCon 7-
8) women’s basketball team pulled out a win over rival Appalachian State University
(11-15, SoCon 8-8) 74-72.
The first half featured a slow offensive and defensive performance from the Lady
Eagles. Senior guard Mimi Dubose knocked down a three pointer at the end of the
first half to pull the Eagles within one, 32-31.
It appeared the Eagles wouldn’t be able to hold on after a 0-6 scoreless run. Dubose
along with freshman guard Angel McGowen led several scoring runs, pulling GSU
ahead of the Mountaineers 74-72.
GSU will play its final home game of the season on Monday against Davidson College
who is ranked second in the Southern Conference. The game is scheduled to begin at
7pm in the Hanner Complex.
