In Gainesville the Georgia Southern University softball team got mixed results, with a 6-2 win over Indiana University as well as a 1-2 loss to Coastal Carolina University.

Indiana was the first challenge of the day for GSU. Senior shortstop Kourtny Thomas was able to knock in 3 RBIs on the night along with a home run from sophomore catcher A.J. Hamilton. Junior pitcher Brooke Red was credited with the victory.

GSU started the second game against Coastal Carolina with a quick score from senior Nicole Benton in the first inning. That would be the only score of the night for the Eagles while Coastal Carolina would put up one run in the second and third inning.

The Eagles have one final game in the tournament tomorrow against the University of Florida, who is ranked number on in the country on both major polls. The game is set to begin tomorrow at 3:15pm in Gainesville.
