GSU impresses on day two of tournament

Day two of the Eagle Round Robin concluded with the Georgia Southern University softball

team defeating Oakland University and taking a hard fought loss to number one ranked

University of Tennessee.

After an initial rain delay the Eagles faced off against the Volunteers to a packed crowd. The

Volunteers managed their only run of the game in the second inning. Despite several game

tying situation GSU was unable to put up a run of their own and fell to the top-ranked visitors 0-1.

In the second match of the day the Eagles showed off their offensive strength. With three RBIs

from Eagle senior Shelby Morrill the Bears found themselves trailing early. After not allowing

any runs in the final inning GSU took the victory 7-0.

Tomorrow, the Eagles will take the field against Northern Colorado University at 12:30 in the

final game of the round robin.
