The Davidson College Wildcats dominated the Georgia Southern University men’s basketball
team from the opening tip in a resounding 82-52 victory Saturday night.
The Wildcats executed their offense with little resistance from the Eagles. As a team, the
Wildcats shot 50 percent from the field and made 45.5 percent of their three-point attempts.
Senior forward De’Mon Brooks finished with 21 points and did most of his damage from the free
throw line. Brooks connected on all 10 of his attempts from the charity stripe. Sophomore guard
Brian Sullivan also finished with 21 points, five rebounds and three assists.

The Eagles struggled to generate offense the entire game and shot 33.3 percent as a team from
Redshirt junior guard Jelani Hewitt recorded a team-leading 13 points but went 5-of-17 for the
game. Senior guard Tre Bussey was also held in check by Davidson’s defense and was only able
to score 11 points.
The 30-point loss was the second-largest margin of defeat for GSU this season. West Virginia
University handed the Eagles a 33-point loss back in November.
The Eagles will look to bounce back against The Citadel on Jan. 30 in Hanner Fieldhouse.
