A trio of Eagles powered the Georgia Southern University volleyball team to victory over the Western Carolina University Catamounts.

Junior middle Kym Coley, junior outside hitter Jamie DeRatt and senior outside hitter Katie Bange combined for 41 kills in the 3-0 sweep of the Catamounts.

After Appalachian State University pushed them to five sets Friday night, GSU head coach Dustin Wood was pleased with his team’s approach from the onset of the match.

“I liked the way we came into tonight’s match focused and dialed in on the adjustments we made from (Friday) night,” Wood said in a news release.

The Eagles finished the weekend 2-0 and will return home after four straight road matches.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Mocs will attempt to snap GSU’s current four-game winning streak at Hanner Fieldhouse on Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
