The Georgia Southern University women’s soccer team came up short tonight by a score of 2-0 against Southern Conference opponent Furman University (11-3-2, SoCon 5-1-1).
GSU put up a fight with Furman for much of the first half. In the 43rd minute, the Paladins managed to punch in the first goal of the contest.
Furman put the game away with a second goal in the 72nd minute. Offensively, the Eagles were only able to get off eight shots.
The Eagles are still in control of their destiny as they head into their final two conference games against Wofford College (7-3-4, SoCon 3-1-3) and Davidson College (5-9-3, SoCon 3-4). Their match against Wofford is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C.
