Volleyball continues winning streak

It took the Georgia Southern University volleyball team three sets to defeat Charleston Southern University 25-13, 25-21, 25-22 in the team’s second game of the day.

The Eagles got off to a hot start with a 25-13 first set performance. Sophomore middle Kristen Curry got the scoring started for GSU when she recorded the team’s first kill.

Curry kept things rolling but it was her teammate, junior outside hitter Jaimie DeRatt who carried the offense.

DeRatt recorded 20 of the 53 kills GSU had tonight.  DeRatt sparked an 11-3 run in the first set, and added an exclamation point with the final kill of the set.

The win pushes the Eagles current streak to six and makes the team 12-2 on the season.
