Eagles fall the to the Sycamores in season opener

The Georgia Southern University women’s soccer season started off rough, as the Eagles were defeated 2-1 by the Indiana State University Sycamores.

The Eagles scored the first goal in the fourth minute, but the Sycamores scored in the 38th minute, which tied the game and ultimately sent the game into overtime.

In the second overtime period, ISU scored with six minutes remaining on the clock. The Sycamores got the game winner in the in the 107th minute with midfielder Kate Johnson scoring from 28 yards.

The Eagles will close the opening weekend of their season on Sunday at 1 p.m. against Indiana.
