Theatre South will bring a day of fun, creativity and networking to students at the Center for Art & Theatre with its annual Wham! Bam! Play Slam!
The Wham! Bam! Play Slam! is the third annual play festival where students write, rehearse and perform a play within 24 hours, beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday and finishing Saturday in the CAT.
Shows will be performed on Saturday night in the CAT at 7:30 and entrance is free.
Students will spend the night in the CAT working on the plays. They will also be able watch movies, play theatre games and eat free pizza.
“Every year we get a lot of talent and great people. It’s not just for those involved in theatre, we get creative students from many different places,” Ibi Owolabi, junior theatre major and co-president of Theatre South, said.
Students choose between being a playwright, director or actor and collaborate together to create plays and are given 10 minutes to brainstorm before creating their own original plays.
Owolabi said, “I would really suggest this to freshmen on campus because it is a great way to meet new people and make new friends while having fun.”
