The 2013 season for Georgia Southern University men’s soccer kicked off Sunday as the Eagles travelled to take on the University of North Florida in a preseason matchup.

GSU has had success in the past against the Ospreys by scoring eight goals in the two previous meetings. However, today both teams could not find the back of the net and resulted in a 0-0 draw.

GSU senior Witton Carlisle had a promising attack that turned into nothing after he was called offside in the 25th minute.

The Eagles had another chance in the 30th minute to break into the scoring column when Sophomore Reed Norton took a penalty kick after Sophomore Eric Dinka was tackled in the box.

GSU will take to the road again for their preseason finale when they take on University of Central Florida in Orlando next Saturday at 7 p.m.
