The Eagles will start out using the shooting range behind the Recreational Activity Center as their athletic facility. Then in the fall of the 2014, GSU will open up the 20,000-25,000 square feet Georgia Southern Shooting Sports Education Center.

Other schools in the Southeast that also participate in women’s rifling are The Citadel, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and the University of Mississippi. Wofford College, North Carolina State Univesity, and Kentucky University compete in coed rifling.

MSG Tim Parks will be the first head coach for GSU, and will be holding tryouts on May 1 from 3-6 p.m. at the shooting range behind the RAC.
