With a 7-3 victory over the University of North Carolina at Greensboro the Georgia Southern University softball team now holds sole possession of third place in the Southern Conference.

A quirky sixth inning saw GSU overcome a one run deficit thanks to a bases loaded walk and two hit batters.  Five different Eagles recorded an RBI in the five run surge in the bottom of the sixth.

After splitting the double header on Saturday GSU looked as if it was going to drop two out of three to UNCG.  Junior pitcher Allie Miles gave up three earned runs in the top of the first inning.

Junior pitcher Sarah Purvis relieved Miles and came up with two clutch strikeouts in the seventh inning to seal the win for GSU.

Purvis struck out nine as the Eagles pushed their SoCon record to 12-8 heading into the season Finale with Appalachian State University on May 4.
