Eagles fall to Cougars

Georgia Southern University’s men’s basketball team was defeated on the road by College of Charleston 69-60.

The Eagles played a tough game against the Cougars, and these two teams were neck and neck the entire game. The Cougars had the upper hand in both halves out shooting the Eagles from the field. GSU picked up there game from behind the arc, in the second half, shooting 40 percent while the Cougars shot 25 percent.

Junior forward Eric Ferguson stepped up this game and led the Eagles with 22 points, five rebounds, and two steals. He shot 50 percent from behind the arc and shot 66.7 percent from the field. Senior guard C.J. Reed also helped lead the Eagles with 16 points, four assists, and three rebounds.

The Eagles will return back to Hanner Fieldhouse to face Wofford University on Thursday, Feb. 21st, and Furman University on Saturday, Feb. 23rd.
