A no hitter sends GSU to consecutive losses

Georgia Southern University’s softball team was the victim of a no hitter as a rough start to the weekend continued with a 3-0 loss to the University of Wisconsin Badgers.

Junior pitcher Sarah Purvis tossed four innings of shutout ball before finally giving up a run in the top of the fifth inning. She was responsible for two more runs crossing the plate as GSU struggled.

Badgers’ junior pitcher Darrah Cassandra kept the Eagles guessing at the plate as the offense continued to struggle.

GSU has been shutout or scored one run in three of its last four games.

If the Eagles plan on putting one in the win column they will have to put together some hits against the Boston University Terriers later today.
