Eagles drop another game in extras

A homerun to center field was all the offense Georgia Southern University’s softball team could muster in a 2-1 loss to the Boston University Terriers.

That homerun came in the top of the seventh inning as senior first baseman Tabby Douberley sent a pitch by BU senior Whitney Tuthill over the center field wall.

GSU would allow BU to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on a single by BU senior second baseman Emily Roesch.

The Eagles found themselves in extra innings for the fourth time this season and in the bottom of the eighth inning the ladies watched their record fall to 6-4 this season with a 1-3 record in extra inning games.

At 2:30 p.m. GSU plays the University of Wisconsin Badgers in an effort to bring its record to 1-1 on the weekend.
