Eagles finish third game defeated

In their third round robin game, Georgia Southern University’s softball team was defeated 4-3 by St. John’s University.

This game started out very slow with only two runs for St. John’s and one run for GSU in the first three innings. But, then, in the fourth inning, freshman AJ Hamilton got a homerun that also sent junior Shelby Morrill in to score, gaining the 3-2 lead for the Eagles.

The game remained steady until the seventh inning when St. John’s scored to tie the game 3-3. This score remained until the tenth inning, St. John’s had a single, a double, and another single consecutively that led to their fourth run of the night. With home field advantage, GSU attempted to come back and tie the game but, they their first three up at bat got out very quickly.

The Eagles will finish off their round robin play today at 1:30 pm against Tennessee Technological University.
