Georgia Southern University’s men’s basketball team defeated the University of North Carolina at Greensboro on the road 66-60.

The Eagles had a few players that carried them through the game offensively, but the GSU defense was what really set them apart from UNCG. UNCG out-shot the Eagles by six percent from the field and by three percent from behind the arc, but GSU had the rebounds to make up for it. On the offensive side of the court, the Eagles got 21 rebounds to the Spartans’ nine, and on defense the Eagles got 29 rebounds to the Spartans’ 20.

Seniors guard C.J. Reed and forward Cameron Baskerville were big playmakers for the Eagles with 23 points and nine rebounds, and with 19 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Junior forward Marvin Baynham also posted ten points and nine rebounds.

GSU will continue on the road in North Carolina to play Davidson College on Saturday, March 2 at 2 p.m.
