Clutch night for Knight at home

The Georgia Southern University women’s basketball team pulled out a dramatic last second victory over the Wofford College Terriers at home today 61-58.

GSU was propelled to victory on the wings of a three pointer at the buzzer from sophomore guard Anna Claire Knight.

The shot would not have been possible without a great screen from junior forward Aishya Wofford.  She created the space necessary for Knight to knock down the jumper over two defenders.

Knight played 31 of the 40 minutes and led the team in scoring with 16 points.  She went 2-3 from behind the arc, none more important than the game clinching basket.

GSU will go for two as the team battles the University of North Carolina at Greensboro on Jan 26 at 4:00 p.m.
