Georgia’s Board of Regents has officially given its stamp of approval for Georgia Southern University’s proposed student fees for the stadium expansion and the move to the Football Bowl Subdivision.

The $25 stadium expansion fee has been approved, as well as diverting $15 of the current $154 athletic fee for the construction of a Football Operations Center.

An extra 6,300 seats will be added to Allen E. Paulson Stadium once a construction date is set.  The fee will not go into effect until fall 2013.

The Board of Regents also passed the $75 fee that would allow GSU to move up to the Football Bowl Subdivision.  This fee hinges on GSU receiving an invitation by an FBS conference.

If the FBS conference believes GSU can be a valuable asset for the conference an invitation will be extended by FBS representatives.
