Bouldering Night Out is hosted on the last Thursday of every month, at the RAC rock wall. Each month, the event has a different theme. This month’s theme of shipwrecked came with pirate hats and eye patches.

There’s nothing special needed to participate in the event, just bring your Eagle I.D. and some athletic clothing.

With music, food, and decorations, the climbers came out.

“I climb because it’s something I love to do. I climb everyday. It’s my passion,” said junior computer science major Luke Jurewicz.

Everyone from novice to seasoned climbers came out and bouldered together, helping each other through the various obstacles.

“Bouldering Night Out has been very successful, the growth of the climbing club has contributed to the success of these events,” said senior marketing major Joe Bakos.

The Climbing Club is a club sport and participates in bouldering competitions and community service. The club normally takes between 3 and 5 climbing trips per semester, and always welcomes new members.

Freshman biology major Jake McElroy said, “I really enjoyed my first Bouldering Night Out, it was interesting to learn and a good time. I’ll definitely be back.”
