Georgia Southern softball’s Shelby Wilson was named First-Team Academic All American by CoSida and Google Cloud.

Wilson, a May graduate, finished her exercise science degree in three years and carried a 4.0 GPA. She decided to forego her fourth year of NCAA eligibility in favor of a teaching position in her home county.

Wilson led the team with 31 runs, 46 HR and eight doubles. She contributed an impressive 89 PO as an outfielder, and drew 30 walks on base.

She remained on the Sun Belt Conference Academic Commissioner’s List for all three years and follows in the footsteps of former Eagle Nina Iduate, who graduated in 2010, in receiving this honor.
