The fellas at Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYU) are being told to leave the “man-buns” at home. According to a recent article published by BYU’s student newspaper, Scroll, the school has begun taking disciplinary action against those males on campus wearing their hair in a bun.
The university claims the hairstyle is against BYU’s honor code. Now it is not just the man-bun that the school is after. A university administrator notes that all hairstyles falling under the category of “extreme” would receive the same action. This is the second time that the man-bun has recently made headlines. Earlier this week, “Good Morning America” featured a segment where dermatologists claimed that the man-bun and the top knot, a bun hairstyle worn by women, could lead to baldness.
We officially welcomed autumn last week, and Starbucks welcomed a new seasonal coffee drink, the Toasted Graham Latte. The inspiration? The company’s research and development manager said in a statement that he found ‘the taste of cereal milk’ to be quite popular among Americans, giving inspiration to the Toasted Graham Latte. The company officially describes it as “an espresso beverage with steamed milk, flavors of graham and sweet cream and finished with a sprinkling of cinnamon graham crumbles.” Don’t worry all of you PSL lovers, the Pumpkin Spice Latte has not been discontinued. Both seasonal drinks will be available on Starbucks’ menu.
And speaking of Pumpkin Spice Lattes, you won’t catch Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton with one any time soon. According to The Hill, Clinton took part in a Facebook Q&A this past Monday where she was asked if she was “a Pumpkin Spice kind of gal?”
Clinton replied saying that she was a fan until she found out how many calories were in the Pumpkin Spice Latte. Relatedly, the food blog Eater notes that one can save over 100 calories by requesting non-fat milk, no whipped cream, and purchasing the 8 oz size.
