2019 Men’s Basketball Championship Bracket Announced

After the Eagles fell to the Georgia State Panthers Saturday night, the Sun Belt conference announced the 2019 men’s basketball championship bracket.

Following the Eagle loss, Georgia State won the regular-season Sun Belt conference, earning them the number one seed after being 22-9 overall while being 13-5 in the conference.

UTA earned the second seed after going 16-15 overall and 12-6 in the conference, while Georgia Southern comes in at third seed after finishing their season 12-6 in the conference and 20-11 overall.

Texas State claimed the fourth seed, ensuring themselves and GS byes to the quarterfinals.

The rest of the seeding shows as follows:

5- Louisiana (10-8)

6- Coastal Carolina (9-9)

7- ULM (9-9)

8- South Alabama (8-10)

9- Arkansas State (7-11)

10- Appalachian State (6-12)

The tournament begins with a pair of first-round games on Tuesday where South Alabama will host Arkansas State and ULM will host Appalachian State. Winners of those games will advance to Thursday’s second round in New Orleans. Quarterfinals are Friday, semifinals are Saturday, and the championship game will be played on Sunday.
