Ice Cream shop serves creative Tacos

By Gabriel Williams, Staff Writer

“I scream for ice cream!”

Ben and Jerry’s ice cream shop served ice cream tacos at Bull Street Taco as part of the first “Bash on Bull” event on Aug. 31 on Bull Street.

The taco restaurant invited the business to serve their customers and Savannah residents a tasty dessert from their ice cream truck.

What better way to finish off some tacos than with a scoop of delicious cold ice cream wrapped in a waffle?

Ben and Jerry’s is a popular ice cream parlor located on 25 E. Broughton St. Customers can choose from over 30 creative non-GMO flavors and toppings. Strawberry, fudge brownie, cheesecake, you name it, they’ve most likely got it.

They also offer vegan and non-dairy choices to customers who don’t want to miss out on the yummy treats.

Tacos were served for $6 while ice cream waffle cones were served for just a dollar extra.

The event was geared not only to promote the businesses but also to give people a scoop of the classic American desert.

Amongst those in attendance were several SCAD students who also sat in on the fun.

Shannon Brown, sophomore, said “I love going to stress-free events like these.” Brown has been a resident of Savannah for two years and has become acclimated to the local atmosphere.

Cody Jackson, junior, said “This is the best ice cream shop in Savannah.”

This is just one of the many different things to do in Savannah. John Spicks, a Savannah-resident for 10 years, said “Here in Savannah, there is actually more things to do than what people think.”

There are a lot of parks to walk through, squares to see, and great dining venues and pubs.

If you’re ever strolling through the collective streets of downtown, stop by Ben and Jerry’s for a scoop or two of some refreshing ice cream. Or head on over to Bull Street Taco for a great variety of tacos at reasonable prices.

Stay tuned to the Ben and Jerry’s social media pages for more community events and chances to get free ice cream.
