On Wednesday night of Sept. 5, UPB is hosting another movie night as part of the ongoing “Weeks of Welcome” celebration. They will be showing “Solo: A Star Wars Story” in the Ogeechee Theatre from 7-9:30 p.m.
“Solo” serves as an origin story for everyone’s favorite scoundrel, Han Solo. It shows his rough upbringing on the planet Corellia before he signs up to join the Imperial Navy. Once there, he encounters a team of smugglers who introduce him to his new life of crime. Along the way he finds help in Chewbacca the wookiee and Lando Calrissian.
While this movie may not have been needed, it certainly adds something new and exciting to the franchise. There are also some interesting easter eggs for fans of the old extended universe if you keep your eyes and ears open.
Free concessions will be provided.
