The Eagles were again victorious in Statesboro last Saturday, defeating UMass 34-13 after a blowout last season. QB Shai Werts had another efficient outing that notched him two passing touchdowns while adding another on the ground. RB Wesley Fields had a huge game, rushing for 141 yards and thereby leading an Eagles rushing attack that thrashed the Minutemen for 341 yards on the ground. Tyler Bass had a solid outing as well, making both of his field goals.

After two-straight wins in Paulson, the Eagles face their toughest test of the season as they travel to take on the second-ranked team in the country, the Clemson Tigers. Clemson is coming off of an impressive 28-26 road win over Texas A&M and looks to move to 3-0 over the Eagles. The two teams have never met before and the result is expected to go in Clemson’s favor, but Georgia Southern has a history of going into big stadiums against big teams and coming home victorious. The Eagles and Tigers face off Saturday at 3:30 pm ET on the ESPN network.
