The Eagles looked to bounce back from a close, two-point loss against UL Louisiana and were successful as they bested the Troy Trojans 90-82.

It was a tough loss for the Eagles against the Ragin’ Cajuns, a loss which fueled them to play with fire against the Trojans.

Overall, the Eagles shot 61 percent from the field, while redshirt-sophomore guard Quan Jackson was a leader for the Eagles with 13 total points, shooting 62.5 percent from the field. Meanwhile, the Trojans only shot 52.6 percent from the field, but Troy stand out Jordon Varnado still was able to shine. The senior forward who usually averages just 19.1 points per game totaled a whopping 32 points against GS.

On another positive note, senior guard Tookie Brown reached 2,000 career points in the game as he scored a total of 19 points.

With this win the Eagles are now sitting at a record of 11-7 overall and 3-2 in the conference.

The Eagles will continue to play on the road throughout the weekend as they take on the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama Saturday at 4:05 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
