Freshman golfer Wilson Andress earned the Dr. Richard Rogers Award for excellence in the classroom and on the course Wednesday for the first time in program history.

Andress logged a 4.0 grade point average for Fall of 2018 as a civil engineering major. The freshman golfer also was second on the team with a 70.86 average for the fall season as well as posting two top-10 and four top-20 finishes.

Andress also set a personal record for himself at the AutoTrader Collegiate Classic where he shot 68-70-69=207 to tie for fourth.

The award was named in honor of Dr. Richard Rogers, a big golf program supporter, and is presented to the Eagle who best represents the term student-athlete.

The men’s golf team will return to competition play Feb. 3-4 in the Georgia Southern Individual Collegiate at the Georgia Southern University Course.
