Eagles look to get one final win for regular season against Coastal Carolina

After their 1-0 win over Appalachian State, the Eagles will be taking on Coastal Carolina in their last regular season game, which will determine the seeding in the Sun Belt Tournament.

The Eagles currently sit at second place in the conference with their 2-0-1 record, while CCU sits at fourth – meaning this game result will determine if the Eagles go into the Sun Belt Tournament at first or second seed.

The chanticleers currently sit at an overall record of 8-5 and have just seemed to fall unlucky in conference play as their conference record shows 1-2.

CCU has put up a total of 155 shots on the season, averaging 11.9 shots per game. Yazeed Matthews leads the chanticleers with his 44 shots and 11 goals for the season as he proves to be a threat for the Eagles to look out for.

The Eagles themselves have looked good on the season, showing 186 shots for the season so far, averaging 13.3 shots per game. Senior forward Javier Carbonell has continued to lead the Eagles with his 13 goals and 56 shots for the season.

This game will look to be an aggressive match as GS has shown to be quite aggressive this season, tallying 28 yellow cards and one red card compared to an also aggressive CCU’s 23 yellow cards and one red card.

The game will be away as the Eagles travel to South Carolina to take on CCU this Friday at 7:00 p.m.
