Starting QB still uncertain after first scrimmage

GS’ starting quarterback remains unnamed even after the first fall scrimmage, leaving many Eagle fans to wonder who will start our first games of the season.

With Justin Tomlin out for the first two games, there is a plethora of talent to choose from including speedster Sam Kenerson, true freshman Cam Ransom and running back Amare Jones. However, a starter still has not been named less than three weeks before the season opener.

Saturday morning, the Eagles took the field for their first of two fall scrimmages. While the defense was the strength of the team last season, their offense shined on Saturday.

Tomlin showed improvement as a passer, tossing three touchdowns. Ransom was the only other quarterback to score, rushing it in from five yards out.

The GS running back room showed an abundance of depth, with three different backs scoring a touchdown. In addition, Khaleb Hood took an option 66 yards to the endzone for a score.

The Eagles will take the field again on Saturday for their second and final fall scrimmage before the regular season kicks off.
