Tropical Storm Michael is expected to make landfall in Florida Wednesday morning and is projected to impact Georgia by early Thursday.

According to The Weather Channel, Michael is currently picking up strength in the Carribean Sea and is expected to become a hurricane as soon as Monday.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Michael is expected to be a hurricane 2 when it makes landfall, but it could potentially strengthen to a hurricane 3.

A hurricane watch has been issued for the Florida Gulf Coast, and Southwest Georgia is under a tropical storm watch.

The George-Anne will continue to monitor the storm’s path and provide updates as more information becomes available.
