Senior forward Javier Carbonell of the Georgia Southern men’s soccer team was named Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.

In his one of his last performances on the field against Florida Atlantic, Carbonell scored twice to seal the win for GS 3-1. Those two goals allowed for Carbonell’s longest scoring streak of four straight matches and gave him a total of 12 goals on the season.

While it’s the third time Carbonell has received this award this year, it’s his fifth overall. Carbonell also is currently tied for third nationally with his 12 goals.

Carbonell and the rest of the Eagles are playing tonight as they take on No. six ranked Louisville in Kentucky.
