Georgia AAUP announces support for vaccine mandate

After a week of protests supporting a mask mandate on college campuses within the University System of Georgia, the Georgia chapter of AAUP demanded mask mandates from state leaders Thursday.

The Georgia AAUP chapter has joined eight conferences in an attempt to lobby institutions of higher education under the vaccine mandate for federal contractors.

According to an email from Georgia AAUP president Matthew Boedy Thursday morning, each AAUP state conference contacted selected senators and House members with these requests:

1) Their public support for expanding President Biden’s recent executive order to mandate vaccines for all higher education institutions who receive federal funding.
2) Their help to publicly pressure state leaders to either undo their executive orders banning vaccine mandates or to promote such mandates in their states.
