The men and women’s soccer teams with both be in action this weekend, both on the road.

Men’s Soccer

The men’s soccer team will be traveling to Jacksonville Saturday, Sept. 15 to face Jacksonville University at 7 p.m.

The Eagles now have a record of 2-2-1 following a loss to No. 1 ranked Wake Forest and will be heading to Jacksonville with a two-loss streak.

While they do have a tied-up record between wins and losses, the Eagles still look strong and promising for the upcoming games.

Senior forward Javier Carbonell is one particular Eagle that’s impressed, logging four goals so far this season and notching 18 total shots, giving him a 0.333 shots on goal percentage.

JU has a record of 0-5 while on a five-loss streak- playing opponents like Appalachian State and Mercer. While the Sharks do have a losing record, they do average 6.4 shots per game with a total of 32 shots all season.

Women’s Soccer

The women’s team will be traveling to Atlanta to face rival Georgia State Friday, Sept. 14 with kickoff starting at 7 p.m. and were originally going to face University of Louisiana Lafayette- but that game has been postponed to their off week in October.

The Eagles are looking at a 2-5 record and heading to Atlanta coming off a 0-1 loss against Kennesaw State University.

Although GS has an overall losing record, the Eagles have the opportunity to have a winning conference record as this is there first Sun Belt game of the season.

The Georgia State Panthers have a similar record to the Eagles- being 2-5-1 overall, but also looking to start conference play with a win as this will also be their first Sun Belt game.

The Panthers are heading into this game with a three-loss streak, so hopefully the Eagles will be able to use that to their advantage.
