
For the first time ever, the Georgia Southern women’s basketball program advanced in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.
On Wednesday, the Lady Eagles took down rival Georgia State, 88-79.
Four different Eagles eclipsed double digits, led by Mya Burns’ 20-point performance. Taya Gibson, Terren Ward and Ja’nya Love-Hill also recorded double-digit points.
The Eagles dominated on the boards, out-rebounding the Panthers 46-24. Gibson, Ward and Love-Hill accumulated eight rebounds a piece.
The Eagles will face UT-Arlington on Friday. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN+.
