World Afro Day occurred on September 15th and was founded by Michelle De Leon in 2017. Here we have Quesha Stanley (left) and Kashayla Garcia (right) rocking their afros.
Ola Victor said, “My hair signifies who I am as an African woman. It plays a huge part in defining my identity.”
DyAsia Brown said, “Afros are a powerful statement that shows our pride and culture”.
Lyndon Bogues said, “My hair represent my personality. From the bottom its straight which represents my seriousness and the curls represent how different I am from other people and how they branch out.”
NaAnna Thomas is celebrating her afro as well. If you want to know more about the start of World Afro Day you can visit www.worldafroday.com.
