Either you’re going to be late for class and need a quick way to get from the top of the pedestrian to the bottom, or you and your friends are looking for something fun to do on a Friday night. Nearly all of us have interacted with a Lime scooter. They are decently fast electric scooters that can be quite dangerous vehicles if used incorrectly, but most students understand how to ride one if they are willing to rent out a session with one.

The problem with the scooters isn’t the inherent danger or the cost, it’s the fact that these scooters have been everywhere but on the ground at Georgia Southern. It’s an ongoing gag to place the scooters in awkward and crazy places and to post the most absurd placements on social media, such as Snapchat and YikYak. Whether it be on the branches of trees, on top of building signs, or even atop of Carroll Building, these scooters have been in more places than some staff can say they’ve been.

**We do not condone participating in this trend, as damaging the scooters or school property can lead to fines and/or punishment.**
