Game 1: In the first game of the season, GS softball hosted against UMass in a doubleheader.
This was a game dominated by the pitchers, as only 1 run was scored all game.
Anslie Pettit pitched five scoreless innings.
UMass player Julianne Bolton would be the only player to score during the game, crossing home plate in the 6th inning.
Game 2: GS Softball played Merrimack in the second game of this doubleheader, and it was a high-scoring affair, as 13 runs were totaled between the two teams.
The game was tied 4-4 heading into the top of the 6th before a Merrimack single drove in a run.
After being down to start the bottom of the 6th, singles by Katie Perkins, Courtney Ball, and Delanie Thames put GS up 8-5.
Pitcher Bailey Holland had 1 hit and strikeout earning her first win of the season.
Alana Barnard pitched for 4.2 innings, and had 6 strikeouts.
Game 3: During the second day of Bash in the Boro, the GS softball team avenged their earlier loss against UMass to start the season as part of another doubleheader.
Pitcher Bailey Holland faced 27 batters allowing 8 hits and 0 runs. She struck out 6 and only walked 1 batter.
This dominant performance helped GS to a 5-0 shutout.
Game 4: Day two of Bash in the Boro saw the GS softball team continue their win streak against Merrimack.
In the second game against Merrimack GS Softball did not allow a Merrimack lead.
Katie Perkins drove in 3 of the 5 GS runs.
Game 5: The final game to close out Bash in the Boro was against Radford College
This game would prove to be the toughest as it went into extra innings
Radford scored the first points of the game in the top of the 6th inning.
Sam Vinson homered to left field in the bottom of the 7th tying the game at 1-1.
In extra innings, Kinley Stewart scored after a Radford fielding error to win the game
Summary: The GS softball team showed resilience after dropping their 1st game to win 4 straight games.

#18 Florida, and Loyola-Chicago with two double headers, and a final game on Sunday.
