Berries in the Boro is a family fun event located at Franklin Farms. On March 29 and 30, the community came out to pick a basket full of berries, eat food, get on hayrides, and bouncy houses were available for kids.
“I did miss this event last year, so I didn’t expect this crowd, but it’s not bad. We parked fast, we walked up here fast, we got in line and got our baskets fast. Everything has been slow but steady at the same time, so it’s been fun,” said Leena Walker.
There was no cover charge for families. Multiple food vendors were on site with very long lines. A highlight for families were the free bounce houses when a basket was purchased. Each family got to pick berries freely, filling the basket up as much as they pleased.
“It’s a little crazy, but we’re excited. We’ve got lots of strawberries, they’re very juicy, Grace and I both approve of them, they’re so very fun for the kids and just for the families, so we’re excited to be here,” said Michelle Nelson.
Franklin Farms regularly has a selection of local products, they are open Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
