Representing the Arabic Club, President Emily Hackmeyer hopes the Multicultural Fashion Show can represent “a diverse array of clothing and cultures, in order to have some inclusivity here at Georgia Southern and to showcase the proud cultures that exist in the student body here,” she said.

“I got this piece of clothing from Morocco, from my girlfriend. She brought it back for me as a gift, and I’m honored to be able to wear it,” said Desmund Neville, representing Morocco. “My favorite part was the belly dancing from Salwa. That was amazing. And I really think it shows the culture from where she’s from. Everyone got to see the experience and it was amazing for her to do that,” Neville continued.
“Outfits that I wore today were donated by members of the community that just wanted to have their culture represented here tonight,” said Aaron Blanchard, representing Colombia.
“I definitely love the little Colombian cumbia that I got to exchange with one of the previous models. But I also really love the inclusion of the Nigerian wedding collection that they had out there tonight,” said Blanchard. “A lot of hard work and dedication went into making this a lot of hours spent, and I’m really glad that it turned out well, seeing everybody be able to have the confidence to walk out there and in front of people, they didn’t know we’re going to show up, was just really exciting to see,” he continued.
“My favorite part of the performance tonight was Black Mania dance group. I thought that they did amazing. They really brought the energy,” Hackmeyer said.
