GS Shooting Sports Education Center to have concealed carry course

The United States Concealed Carry Association is offering a concealed carry course from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Georgia Southern Shooting Sports Education Center.

The course is open to the public and registration is due two days before each class offering, according to the Campus Recreation and Intramurals website.

The cost for GS students is $100 and the cost for the public is $125.

The USCCA concealed carry course is a comprehensive course for anyone considering carrying a firearm for self-defense, according to the CRI website. The course is eight hours and will include both classroom and range components.

Laser-training guns will be used to develop point-shooting skills in the classroom and culminates with live fire on a range according to the CRI website.

Equipment and ammunition are included.

The carry conceal course will cover topics such as developing your own personal protection plan, situational awareness, understanding the physical violent encounters, the usual aspects of using deadly force and knowing what to do in the aftermath and a guide to gear and gadgets.

The CRI website also provides a guide to obtaining concealed carry citification in Bulloch County.

The next class offering will be November 26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
