Shooting Sports Center hosts date night

The Shooting Sports Education Center will hold a firearms date night on Nov. 3 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The event is open to Georgia Southern students and the general public. The age range for individuals that can attend is 18-years-old and up.

“This is an regular event usually done once a month and the goal of the event is to give couples a opportunity to do something different together,” Emily Stuchell, gradate assistant for the Shooting Sport Education Center, said.

The cost of the event varies between GS students and the general public. The cost for students is $65 dollars and the cost for the public is $75 dollars per couple.

The registration deadline for the date night event is 24 hours in advance before November 3.

Each couple will receive 1 box of 9mm in the package and pistol rental included in their cost of attendance.

For the date night beginners, this is an alternative program designed for individuals who want to become better shooters and learn new life skills, all while having fun.

This particular event varies from a the normal date night; This date will consist of learning the basics of firearm safety and getting the opportunity to shoot in the shooting range.

Some of the things that couples will learn at this event are, how to handle an firearm safely, marksmanship, loading and unloading, proper stance and grip, sight alignment/ picture and how to fix a malfunction.
