Halloween in the ‘Boro

Austyn Hayes

The spookiest time of year is upon us again, and no I’m not talking about the first of the month when bills are due, I’m talking about good ole’ Halloween. Between the candy, the costumes, the treats, and the tricks, Statesboro is an interestingly scary place to be as Halloween closes in.

This year will be no different than any other year, as Statesboro will be filled with Halloween activities for the whole town. Whether you’re a kid who loves free candy or a college junior who’s just not ready to start “adult-ing,” Statesboro during Halloween will definitely put a spell on you. Here are some of the events to attend.

Oct. 27, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.: At “Trick or Treat at Mill Creek,” the community can enjoy numerous October activities, including a candy trail, hay rides, horse rides and food. This event is free and open to all.

Oct. 26, 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.: “Scare in the Boro” at Splash in the Boro turns the beloved water park into a haunted oasis.

Oct. 28, 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.: At “Scare on the Square” in downtown Statesboro, there will be a pumpkin patch, trick-or-treating, a costume contest and more.

More Events in Statesboro:

– Ghost by Lantern Light Tours – Oct. 27 @ Averitt Center

– Rocky Horror Picture Show Live – Oct. 26-27 @ Averitt Center
