FIT Fair tomorrow at Russell Union Rotunda

The fair

Members of Campus Recreation and Intramurals (CRI) are holding a “FIT Fair” on Tuesday at the Russell Union Rotunda from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m to talk to students about group fitness classes at the RAC.

Students will have the opportunity to learn more about the various fitness classes, including Power Yoga, Pilates, Total Body Blast and Awesome Abs.

In addition, through a process called “SpeedFITing” – similar to speed dating – students will get to talk to dietetic interns and personal trainers about topics such as meal preparation, weight control and goal setting.

The classes

Students do not have to pay for group fitness classes, as they are a part of the RAC membership, which is included in their fees every semester. In addition, students do not have to sign up for classes as they are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The class schedule changes every semester. Classes are usually held on weekdays and weekends, and typically include courses in mind and body, cardio and strength training.

CRI recommends that students bring water with them to all fitness classes. Students may bring their own yoga or Pilates mats to the mind-and-body classes, but free weights are not allowed in any of the classes.

For more information, students can call CRI at 912-478-5436.
