Georgia Southern University released an Eagle Alert at approximately 1:30 p.m. announcing that campus will close at 2 p.m. due to severe weather.

According to the National Weather Service, a tornado watch is in effect in Bulloch County until 8 p.m. on April 5.

GS listed the following special hours for campus facilities:

• Georgia Southern University’s on-campus residence halls will remain open.
• Zach S. Henderson Library will close at 2 p.m. The library will reopen at 7:30 a.m.
• Lakeside and all retail dining locations will close at 2 p.m. The Dining Commons will keep the regular schedule and will remain open until 11 p.m. today.
• Health Services will close at 2 p.m. and will reschedule appointments.
• The University Store, Print Shop and Post Office and Tech Corner will close at 2 p.m.
• Georgia Southern University buses will run until 4 p.m. today at which time service will discontinue for the remainder of the day.
