To boost student participation this year, the Student Government Association (SGA) launched a new incentive program in which students can earn tickets for the chance to win prizes.

“The purpose of the incentive program is to build a larger community for student government while engaging students to participate,” Dylan John, SGA president, said.

According to the SGA website, the incentive program has four opportunities for students to get involved and earn tickets. These opportunities include SGA awareness, SGA events, SGA Lead-Serve and SGA Vision 2020.

How to earn tickets:

  • SGA Awareness and SGA events: Attend the association’s body meetings and sponsored events.
  • SGA Lead-Serve: An opportunity for students to actively engage in student government. Students can volunteer to work side-by-side with an SGA senator to see what they do on a daily basis.
  • SGA Vision 2020: Attend collaborations by the association that feature important topics on campus. Dates for the collaborations are to be announced.

If a student completes any of these tasks, their name will be entered into the semester end drawing, where they will have the chance to win prizes that total over $1,000 in value. The drawings will be announced at the final SGA meetings of the fall and spring semesters.

Visit the SGA website to check for upcoming events or register for the incentive program. Weekly body meetings are held every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Russell Union Ballroom.
