Diversity, Inclusion, and Fairness Conference this weekend

Georgia Southern University’s Multicultural Student Center will host the Diversity, Inclusion, and Fairness (D.I.F) conference on Saturday, April,9, in the Russell Union from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The goal of the “Embrace the Elephant” themed conference is to allow the attendees to openly engage in conversations to better understand diversity, inclusion, and fairness by encouraging them to get outside of their comfort zones when talking about issues of biases and privileges.

The award-winning author and entrepreneur, Justin Jones-Fosu, will be one of the keynote speakers, opening the conference with a speech called “Hug an Elephant, Kiss a Giraffe: Redefining Diversity in Everyday Life.”

Another speaker is, the assistant professor from the University of Georgia, Chris Linder, Ph.D. Linder plans to raise awareness during her speech about the ways to counter cultural and diversity issues positively.

Using the hashtag #MakeADIF16, participants can live tweet their experience during the conference and learn more about it.
