Bark For Life coming to Georgia Southern University

Bark for Life is a one mile walk for your dog that benefits the American Cancer Society. It will take place at the RAC Pavilion/Field from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on April 16, 2016.

The event will not only benefit the American Cancer Society, but its also meant to honor cancer patients, survivors and those who have lost the battle of cancer. The Statesboro Humane Society will also be at the event and adoptions will be available.

Your dog and you can enjoy a band, food, games, vendor booths and caricature artists to draw you and your dog enjoy a day out in the sun.

There will be competitions for the dogs in the categories of best dressed, longest tail, best name, best trick and softest fur with each winner taking home a prize.

“We are trying to really make this the biggest bark for life ever, ” Kaitlin Moore, health education and promotion major and organizer of the event, said.
