Sometimes it seems like being in college means you develop a taste for coffee as soon as your walk on campus. Starbucks is a typical caffeine watering hole of sorts for students but it’s not exactly the cheapest coffee in the world. Here are some ways to make your wallet breath a little more comfortably.

1. Craving iced coffee? Try getting a triple espresso over ice in whatever size you want and going to the condiment area to doctor it the way you like.

2. Refills are $0.50 during the same visit!

3. Bring your own cup, mug, or tumbler and save $0.10.

4. If you’re in Starbucks more than you care to admit, go ahead and get their card. Member benefits include: free drink/food on your birthday, free refills, email offers, and coupons. You’ll have to use it often to move through the levels but if you’re a frequent flier that shouldn’t be too difficult.

5. There is in fact a size smaller than a “tall,” called a “short,” and it has the same amount of espresso as the tall.
