Georgia Southern to Host Famous Journalists

Georgia Southern will host Ted Koppel, Mara Liasson and Eugene Robinson; they will be discussing “2016 Elections: Voting as an Informed Citizen” on Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. at Hanner Fieldhouse.

  • Ted Koppel is world renown having journalistically covered many major events including President John F. Kennedy’s funeral, Martin Luther King Jr.’s civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery, and being the first journalist to interview Nelson Mandela upon his release from prison.
  • Mara Liasson is the national political correspondent for National Public Radio (NPR) and a contributor to FOX news channel.
  • Eugene Robinson is a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist from The Washington Post.

It will be a panel to discuss the importance of voting and civil responsibility and impress that on the students of Georgia Southern.

It is a part of Georgia Southern’s Leadership Lecture Series which has hosted Archie Manning, Laura Bush, Condoleezza Rice and others.
